Carpet Cleaning Wimbledon Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between Carpet Cleaning Wimbledon and the customer for the provision of carpet, rug, upholstery, and related cleaning services within our service areas. By booking a service, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made for domestic and commercial premises unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any additional or amended terms must be expressly confirmed in writing by Carpet Cleaning Wimbledon.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions shall have the meanings set out below:

Customer or you means the person, company, or organisation making the booking and responsible for payment of the services.

Company, we, or us means Carpet Cleaning Wimbledon, the service provider.

Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, mattress, hard floor, or related cleaning services provided by the Company.

Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

Scope of Services

The Company provides professional cleaning services that may include: hot water extraction, steam cleaning, dry cleaning methods, stain and spot treatment, odour removal, and related services appropriate to carpets, rugs, upholstery, and other soft furnishings.

The exact scope of the Services for a specific booking will be as described and confirmed at the time of booking, based on the information provided by the Customer. Any additional work requested during the visit may be subject to additional charges and will be carried out only where time and resources reasonably permit.

Booking Process

Bookings for Services may be made by the Customer through the Companys accepted communication channels. At the time of booking, the Customer will be asked to provide accurate details of the Premises, the items to be cleaned, access arrangements, parking availability, and any particular concerns such as severe staining, pet contamination, or delicate fabrics.

The Company will provide a quotation based on the information supplied by the Customer. All quotations are given in good faith but are subject to change if the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete. The Company reserves the right to revise the quotation on arrival if the actual condition, size, or number of items differs significantly from that described.

A booking is considered accepted once the Company has confirmed the date, time, and price to the Customer. The Company may request a deposit to secure the booking. Where required, the booking will only be confirmed once the deposit has been received.

The Customer must ensure that an authorised person is available at the Premises at the agreed time to provide access and to approve any necessary decisions regarding the Services.

Access and Parking

The Customer is responsible for providing safe, reasonable access to the Premises, including any relevant gate codes, entry instructions, or keys. If access cannot be gained at the agreed time, waiting time or a call-out charge may apply, or the booking may be treated as a late cancellation.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that suitable parking is available close to the Premises for the Companys vehicle and equipment. Any parking costs, permits, or fines incurred due to the unavailability of legal parking spaces may be charged to the Customer.

Customer Responsibilities Before Cleaning

The Customer must remove, or arrange the removal of, all small and fragile items from the areas to be cleaned, including valuables, ornaments, and personal belongings. The Company accepts no liability for damage to items left in the cleaning area that should reasonably have been removed before the visit.

Where possible, the Customer should move light furniture such as chairs, coffee tables, and small items prior to arrival. The Company may assist with moving certain items where it is safe to do so, but will not move heavy, fragile, or valuable furniture such as wardrobes, pianos, large cabinets, or electrical appliances.

The Customer must inform the Company of any known defects or pre-existing damage to carpets, rugs, upholstery, flooring, or fittings, including loose seams, weakened fibres, stains caused by corrosive substances, or previous cleaning treatments that may affect the outcome.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that there is adequate electricity and water supply at the Premises for the duration of the Services.

Pricing and Quotations

All prices are provided in pounds sterling and are inclusive or exclusive of VAT where clearly indicated by the Company. Quotations may be given per room, per item, per square metre, or as a fixed package price depending on the nature of the work.

Quotations are valid for a limited period as advised by the Company, after which the Company reserves the right to amend the price. If on arrival it becomes clear that the work required is substantially different from the information provided at the time of quotation, the Company will advise the Customer of any necessary price adjustment before commencing work.

The Company reserves the right to charge for additional services requested on the day of cleaning, subject to availability of time and resources.

Payments and Deposits

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due immediately on completion of the Services at the Premises. The Company may accept payment by cash, bank transfer, or other methods as advised.

For certain bookings, particularly larger jobs or commercial contracts, the Company may require a deposit in advance. Deposits are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated or where the cancellation is made in accordance with the Companys cancellation policy.

If payment is not made when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on any outstanding sum at the statutory rate, together with any reasonable costs incurred in recovering the debt, including administrative and legal costs.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Customer may cancel or request to reschedule a booking by giving notice in advance. The minimum notice period and any applicable charges will be confirmed at the time of booking. As a general guideline, cancellations or rescheduling with at least 48 hours notice will not usually incur a charge.

If the Customer cancels or reschedules with less than the required notice period, the Company reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee, which may be up to the full quoted amount, at the Companys discretion. Where a deposit has been taken, it may be retained to cover such charges.

If the Company is unable to attend the Premises due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as severe weather, vehicle breakdown, staff illness, or other unforeseen events, the Company will inform the Customer as soon as reasonably practicable and offer an alternative appointment. The Company will not be liable for any consequential losses arising from such cancellations or delays.

Service Quality and Limitations

The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care in providing the Services and will use products and equipment appropriate for professional carpet and upholstery cleaning. However, the Customer acknowledges that:

1. Some stains, marks, and odours may be permanent and cannot be fully removed despite the application of professional methods.
2. The degree of soiling, the age and type of fabric, previous treatments, and other factors may limit the achievable results.
3. Shrinkage, colour loss, or texture changes can occasionally occur, particularly where items are old, worn, poorly fitted, or have been previously damaged or cleaned incorrectly.

The Company will endeavour to identify areas of risk and will inform the Customer where additional caution is required. The Customer accepts that no guarantee can be given as to complete stain or odour removal, restoration to an as-new condition, or elimination of all allergens.

Drying Times and Ventilation

The Customer should note that carpets and upholstery may remain damp for several hours after cleaning. Approximate drying times will be indicated by the technician, but these are estimates only and depend on ventilation, temperature, humidity, and the thickness of materials.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and heating, and for taking appropriate care when walking on damp carpets or using recently cleaned furniture. The Company accepts no liability for slips, trips, colour transfer, or damage arising from premature use of cleaned items.

Customer Satisfaction and Complaints

If the Customer is not satisfied with any aspect of the Services, they must inform the Company within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 24 to 48 hours of completion. The Company may request photographs or additional information to assess the issue.

Where a complaint is justified and directly related to the quality of the cleaning, the Company may, at its discretion, return to the Premises to re-clean the affected areas or offer an appropriate partial refund. The Company is not obliged to provide a full refund where some or all limitations have been explained or where the outcome was constrained by factors beyond the Companys control.

Liability and Insurance

The Company will maintain appropriate public liability and, where applicable, employers liability insurance to cover its operations. The Companys total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the value of the Services provided or the amount recoverable under its insurance, whichever is greater.

The Company will not be liable for:

1. Pre-existing damage, wear and tear, defects, or conditions that become apparent during or after cleaning.
2. Fading, discoloration, or deterioration that was not visible prior to cleaning.
3. Indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of use, or alternative accommodation costs.
4. Damage caused by inaccurate information supplied by the Customer, including undisclosed material types, previous treatments, or known defects.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that items to be cleaned are suitable for the treatment requested. Where labels, care instructions, or manufacturer guidance are not available or have been removed, the Company will use reasonable judgement but cannot be held liable for adverse results arising from unknown material compositions.

Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company will handle and dispose of any waste generated during the provision of Services in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations. This may include the collection and disposal of extracted soil, dirty water, and used cleaning materials.

The Customer agrees not to request the Company to dispose of hazardous or regulated waste that falls outside the typical scope of carpet and upholstery cleaning, such as chemical waste, medical waste, or sharp objects. If such waste is encountered, the Company may refuse to proceed until it has been safely removed by the Customer or a suitable specialist contractor.

The Customer is encouraged to inform the Company in advance if there are any specific environmental or access restrictions at the Premises that may affect waste handling, such as limited drainage options or special building rules.

Health and Safety

The Company will take reasonable steps to protect the health and safety of its staff and the occupants of the Premises. Certain cleaning products may contain chemicals that require ventilation and care in use. The Customer should keep children, pets, and vulnerable individuals away from the work area for the duration of the visit and until advised it is safe to return.

If the technician considers that the Premises present an unacceptable risk to health or safety, such as severe infestation, structural hazards, or aggressive behaviour, the Company reserves the right to decline or discontinue the Services. In such cases, a call-out or cancellation fee may apply.

Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, strikes, lockouts, power failures, transport disruptions, acts of government, or public health emergencies.

Data Protection and Privacy

The Company will collect and process personal data provided by the Customer only for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering Services, processing payments, and handling any enquiries or complaints. The Company will take reasonable measures to keep such data secure and will not share it with third parties except where necessary for the provision of Services, legal compliance, or debt recovery.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a particular booking will be the version in force on the date the booking was confirmed. Customers are advised to review the Terms and Conditions periodically.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Services, or their formation.

By proceeding with a booking, the Customer confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in full.
