Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaning Services

Carpet cleaning equipment prepared for a professional service appointmentThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which we provide professional carpet cleaning services in the UK, including carpet cleaning Wimbledon services, domestic rug care, and related stain-removal treatments. By making a booking, you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully before confirming any appointment. These terms are designed to be fair, transparent, and practical, while reflecting the standards expected of a reputable carpet cleaning service operating in accordance with UK consumer and environmental requirements.

Throughout these Terms and Conditions, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider, and “you” or “the customer” means the person requesting or receiving the service. The terms apply to all work carried out at residential and commercial premises, whether booked online, by telephone, or through any other accepted method. They also apply to one-off treatments, recurring visits, and any additional tasks agreed during the booking process.

Professional carpet cleaning team outlining service terms before work beginsWe reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking unless a change is required by law or for safety reasons. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

1. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once we have accepted your request. A booking may be made by telephone, email, online form, or any other method we make available. When placing a booking, you must provide accurate information about the property, the areas to be cleaned, access arrangements, and any known issues such as heavy staining, pet contamination, previous treatment, or fragile materials. This information helps us prepare the correct equipment and estimate the time required.

Any quotation or estimate provided before the visit is based on the information supplied by you. If the actual condition of the carpet or rug differs materially from the description provided, we may revise the price, change the scope of work, or decline to proceed if the service requested is unsafe or unsuitable. A quote does not guarantee a final price unless we have expressly stated it is fixed in writing.

Appointments are scheduled in good faith, but arrival times may vary due to traffic, weather, access delays, or earlier jobs running longer than expected. We will usually provide a time window rather than an exact arrival time. You are responsible for ensuring that someone over the age of 18 is present to authorise access and confirm the work to be carried out. If access is not available when we arrive, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation or missed appointment.

2. Service Standards and Customer Responsibilities

Specialist carpet cleaning process with customer responsibilities and service standardsWe aim to deliver a professional carpet cleaning Wimbledon service using methods selected to suit the fabric, soil level, and condition of each item. However, results may vary depending on age, wear, fibre type, prior cleaning history, and the nature of the staining. Some marks, including dye transfer, permanent burns, old water marks, and pre-existing chemical damage, may not be fully removable even with specialist treatment.

You must move or secure small personal items, valuables, fragile objects, and loose fittings before the appointment unless we have agreed in advance to assist with light furniture movement. We may refuse to move heavy, unstable, or high-risk items. You should also tell us about hidden hazards, such as loose floorboards, electrical faults, damp areas, mould, or contamination. We are entitled to suspend work if conditions are unsafe or if the premises do not reasonably permit the service to be completed.

Where pre-treatment, deodorising, stain protection, or specialist spot removal is requested, these are additional services unless expressly included in the original quote. We will explain any extra charge before carrying out such work. If you decline a recommended treatment, you accept that the final outcome may be reduced.

3. Payments, Deposits, and Charges

Payment is due in accordance with the method and timing stated at booking or on the invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, full payment is due on completion of the service on the same day. We may accept cash, card, bank transfer, or other approved methods, but we are not obliged to accept every form of payment. Any applicable deposit must be paid to secure the appointment and may be non-refundable where stated at the time of booking.

All prices are stated in pounds sterling and may be subject to VAT where applicable. Quotations are based on the service requested and the information provided. Additional charges may apply where the work extends beyond the original scope, such as extra rooms, heavier than expected soiling, repeated treatment, difficult access, parking restrictions, or delays caused by the customer. If extra work is required, we will aim to inform you before proceeding.

Late payment may result in reminder charges or recovery action, subject to applicable law. You remain responsible for paying all sums due, including any reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts. If a payment card is declined or a bank transfer fails, we may suspend future bookings until the account is settled.

4. Cancellations, Amendments, and Missed Appointments

You may cancel or reschedule a booking by notifying us within a reasonable time. If you cancel sufficiently in advance, no charge may apply. If you cancel at short notice, fail to provide access, or are not ready for the appointment, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover lost time and travel costs. The exact fee, where applicable, will be explained at the time of booking or in your invoice terms.

We may also need to cancel or reschedule due to staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather, unsafe conditions, or events outside our reasonable control. In such cases, we will try to arrange an alternative appointment. We will not be liable for any indirect losses arising from a cancellation or reschedule, provided we have acted reasonably and in good faith.

If you request a change to the service on the day, such as adding rooms or altering the type of treatment, we may not be able to accommodate it immediately. Changes may affect the price, duration, and availability of the slot. Any amendment is only effective once confirmed by us.

5. Liability, Damage, and Limitations

Waste handling and liability considerations for a carpet cleaning serviceWe take reasonable care and use suitable methods, but no cleaning service can guarantee perfect results on every textile or surface. Our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing property directly damaged by our proven negligence, up to the extent permitted by law. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, structural weakness, colour loss caused by unsuitable materials, or deterioration that occurs as a result of age, previous treatment, or manufacturer limitations. Some carpets and rugs are sensitive to water, heat, agitation, or chemical products; where such sensitivity exists, the risk remains with the customer if the item was not identified or if the item’s care instructions were unavailable. You should notify us of any special handling requirements before work begins.

Where we use protective coverings, hose equipment, detergents, or machinery, we will do so with reasonable care. However, minor residual odour, drying variation, or temporary fibre stiffening may occur after cleaning and is not normally treated as damage. If you believe damage has occurred, you must notify us promptly and provide reasonable access so that we may inspect the issue. We may request photographs, invoices, or other evidence to assess any claim.

6. Waste, Environmental, and Regulatory Requirements

We operate in accordance with relevant UK waste and environmental regulations. Waste water, removed soil, used disposable materials, and any contaminated waste arising from the cleaning process will be handled responsibly and disposed of in a lawful manner. We do not permit the uncontrolled discharge of waste into drains, waterways, or places where it may cause pollution. Where specialist disposal is required, additional charges may apply if these are lawful and properly explained.

You must ensure that the premises permit compliant waste handling and safe access to disposal points where required. If we are asked to clean materials contaminated by bodily fluids, pests, mould, chemicals, or other hazardous substances, you must disclose this in advance. We may refuse to handle such materials unless the work can be safely completed and lawfully disposed of under applicable regulations. In some cases, specialist remediation rather than routine carpet cleaning may be required.

We aim to minimise environmental impact by using appropriate products, efficient equipment, and responsible working practices. This may include controlled water usage and the selection of cleaning solutions suitable for the task. Any customer request that would require unlawful disposal, unsafe chemical use, or a breach of environmental rules will be refused.

7. Force Majeure and Service Suspension

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform any obligation where the delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Such events may include severe weather, accidents, road closures, power failure, flood, fire, industrial action, equipment shortages, public emergencies, or government restrictions. In these circumstances, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event, and we will resume service as soon as reasonably possible.

If a force majeure event makes performance impossible, we may cancel or postpone the booking without liability for consequential loss. Where payment has been made in advance for work not yet carried out, we will offer a new appointment or, where appropriate, a refund for the unperformed portion of the service.

8. Complaints and Remedy

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, you should notify us within a reasonable time after completion. This allows us to inspect the area and consider an appropriate remedy. Depending on the issue, a remedy may include re-cleaning a suitable area, a partial adjustment, or another reasonable solution. We will not consider a complaint effectively made if the property has been altered, cleaned by a third party, or denied access for inspection before we have had a fair opportunity to assess the matter.

Any remedy offered is provided without prejudice and does not imply admission of liability unless expressly stated. We aim to resolve concerns professionally and in line with consumer law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Final legal terms for UK carpet cleaning services and governing lawThese Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or connected with the service, the booking, or these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you are a consumer, nothing in this clause limits any rights or protections available to you under mandatory consumer legislation.

By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. They are intended to provide a clear and fair framework for professional carpet cleaning services, including scheduled visits, payments, cancellations, liability, and lawful waste handling. For avoidance of doubt, any reference to carpet cleaning Wimbledon is descriptive of the service area and does not alter the legal effect of these terms.
